Begin, My Friend
Editorial Written By Toni Todaro
You have an idea. It’s been in you forever. It comes about intrusively, without warning. You have had this idea for as long as you can remember. You make plans for the idea. When you feel brave, you’ll tell people your close to about the idea. You dream it. You scheme it. But if honesty is a virtue, you have never manifested it. You haven’t made the idea physical. It stays in the ether. It stays in your neurons. It stays in the spirit. This is the problem.
Scaling ideas and turning ideas physical are 2 separate modes. People plan to scale an idea that hasn’t been manifest. For example, let’s say you have a goal to lose weight. You don’t know how much, you just know you don’t like what you see in the mirror and you’re afraid to take your shirt off in the summer time. You’ve plotted and schemed a million times on how to solve this problem. You’ve scoured through YouTube gurus and Instagram influencer quick tips, but you’re body hasn’t changed. Every year your the same physique give or take a few pounds. In the midst of thinking, you weren’t being physical. You weren’t materializing.
What if you walked? What if as soon as you had the idea of changing your physique, you immediately stood up and walked. You arose from the couch or bed, and walked. No particular direction. No set distance. You just walked. You didn’t need to learn a new ab workout or weight lifting routine. You didn’t need to sign up at a gym. You just walked. If you had the goal to lose weight, then walking would begin that process immediately. You have achieved your goal. Change has immediately begun. Calories are being burnt. Energy is being used. You have begun. This is the secret.
The secret is simple. Begin. Don’t delay. Immediately take the first step. In this moment. Right now.
